- When you first starting writing in college courses (either English or another discipline) did you feel like you were prepared to meet your instructors' expectations? If you were to advise a high school senior about writing in college, what would you tell him or her?
- Do you think about the expectations of your readers when you are writing informally - for example, on Facebook, Twitter, or another social media website? How are those expectations similar to or different from the expectations that your college instructors have?

Blog entry 1
If you're not sure what to write about for your first blog entry, try reading chapter 1 of the St. Martin's Handbook, which talks about the expectations for college writing.

Just got done watching twilight eclipse. It wasslow but I was surprised that the warewolfs teamed up with vampires.
ReplyDeleteThe movie was quite slow. Three major occurrences were stretched out for almost 2 hrs. The team up was unexpected since the clans hated each other so much and Jacob imprinting on the newborn was crazy.
ReplyDeleteI thought the movie was slow as well. I wonder if the movie would have been better if they didn't divide it into two parts.
ReplyDeleteI thought the movie was out there. I did like seeing the vampires and warewolfs team up for the best of the baby. The whole imprinting on the babt was just creepy. I think the movie was kind of a let down to be honest.
ReplyDeleteI just recently watched Breaking Dawn and I was surprised that I actually liked the movie. The three other twilight series movies were nowhere near as good as the most recent movie in my opinion. The acting seemed to improve and the ending had a great cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteI just got done watching eclipse, and as usual the story like is ok, but the acting is subpar. Hopefully in Breaking Dawn the acting will be bearable to watch.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started college writing I did not really feel like I was very prepared for it. I was a little worried about this but once I began writing papers I began to feel more confident with my writing. The hand outs that the professors provide are very helpful to me when writing so I can be sure to include everything they want in the paper. If I were to give a high school senior advice on college writing I would tell them first off to not procrastinate when they receive the paper. I would began researching and brainstorming ideas for the paper as soon as possible because the more time you have to work on your paper the more you can improve your paper. I would also advise them to be sure to make it clear to provide all the information in the paper that was assigned.
