Cain and Lilth

I always knew that there were different versions of the first vampire however when I first read about Cain being the first vampire I was shocked. The idea of Cain being the first vampire was completely new to me because I had only ever heard the story from the Bible. This idea was completely different. I had never heard anything like it. I thought it was a really good idea because God from the Old Testament was wrathful and would be cruel enough to curse Cain like that. It was a really cool and interesting idea.

  1. I agree, I never knew that some traditions believed that Cain was the originating vampire story and I was pretty shocked when we read this story. I guess it was pretty cool but I definitely don't agree with the story itself.

  2. I would have to agree. Except for my research I first stumbled upon Lilith (first wife of Adam) being the first vampire. This is from the Hebrew legends and boy was I shocked! First off, who knew that Adam had a wife before Eve?? It took such a spin from the original bible text! It was very interesting though seeing how different cultures and countries all have their own stories of vampires. Most of them have several things in common, and it makes you wonder..If they are all thinking it, maybe some of it is true....
