Elizabeth Bathory

I am looking up information about Elizabeth Bathory for thegroup projects. That girl was nuts! The things that I have read about her are crazy and I can't believe she lived like that. She would take baths in the blood of virgins to make her seem younger and more beautiful, which is why she is called the Blood Countess. Taking baths in blood makes her insane enough without considering all the other horrible things she had done. She killed over 600 young women. She is considered one of the most evil women in the history. She would torture the women for weeks, even making them eat their own flesh. Locking her up in a tower and letting her die was not a suitable punishment for what she had done, at least I don't think so.

  1. Yes that lady sure had some problems..I cant believe any one could do something like that. I agree that she could have had a different punishment for what she did.

  2. I still think some of her reasoning was due to her seizures as a child, but even then, she's the exact definition of a monster...or vampire, I suppose.

  3. Yes, I understand she didn't have the best childhood but these things are still insane. But through reading Dracula now we see that him drinking blood actually made him look younger and more handsome so maybe so go some of her ideas through that? Just to believe that this is real life and she actually did this is crazy.

  4. This girl was bit of a weirdo to say the least. I find the presentations over her very interesting though! It made for a good topic to catch people's attention because it definitely caught mine.

  5. I think her having a slightly more humane death was a good thing. I'm not saying she didn't "deserve" a greater punishment, but if her punishers had tortured her the way she did to the virgins, then what better would the punishers have been than the Countess?
