Class Blog #2-Dracula Theme
One of the themes that I noticed in Dracula was that Christianity saves. The name Dracula comes from the word dracul from Transylvania which means "dragon" and "devil". Therefor, Dracula is suppose to represent some satanic figure in this novel. When Jesus died on the cross he gave his body and blood to the world so that they could live but in this novel Dracula only takes people's blood for himself causing his victims to live as the "undead" not actually live. I also took notice that some of the major items used to fight off Dracula were Christian symbols such as a crucifixes and the hosts (represent the body of Christ) that fended off the vampires. What this means is that they only way to keep the devil away and out of your life is to have God in it. He will drive all the devils away.

It was definitely a book worth reading. A little boring sometimes, but also interesting.
