Vampire or Werewolf?
If, in some bizarre world, you were forced to choose between
the two opposing creatures, which would you choose? (For the sake of this blog,
neither is not an acceptable response)
Historically, vampires are creatures that retain order and
relish in high society. Inhumanely beautiful and cunning when needed, they make
the perfect predators, enabling them to manipulate people and things to fit
their needs or wants. By drinking blood from either humans or animals, they
retain unbelievable strength, possess immortality, and are essentially
indestructible. Though they have immortality, there is a multitude of ways in
which you can kill or harm vampires. However, they seem to be evolving in the
literary world which somewhat gives them more advantages, like stepping into
sunlight.
Werewolves, on the other hand live a slightly more chaotic
life depending on the werewolf being considered (Jacob Black is more or less an
exception to historical werewolves. He tends to resemble a shape-shifter more
than a werewolf). Being cursed to endure painful transformations every full
moon, they basically become mindless, bloodthirsty dogs that maul everything in
sight with their almost limitless strength combined with sharp claws and teeth.
Compared to vampires, they lead a wilder or more untamed life and seem to
possess more freedom. In some fiction, werewolves lose their ability to
consciously make decisions and they fail to distinguish between their loved
ones and strangers.
Both creatures have positive and negative aspects to their
characters. Which risks would you be willing to endure?
If I were to be a vampire or werewolf I would probably we a werewolf. Not that this would be what I would have chosen, but rather a werewolf is more like my personality. If I could choose I would be a vampire, but realistically I fit for the more chaotic lifestyle of a werewolf. I also feel like I too am somewhat of a shape shifter in my everyday life. I am able to accommodate to different situations and environments. I also seem to follow less of society's standards but more of my own.
ReplyDeleteWhile a vampire sounds more like me, I to would probably choose to be a werewolf. Only because I don't see immortality as a gift, but a curse. While werewolves don't age while changing they can stop changing and have a normal life. I also wouldn't like constantly wanting to drink another person's blood.
ReplyDeleteIn a bizarre world if I had to choose between Vampires or Werewolves, I would probably choose Vampire. For the simple reason that they have no bodily change. Werewolves have to shape shift, and well I perceive that to be a gruesome process. Also, vampires seem to have the upper hand in all situations. Smart, beautiful, strong. What more would you ask for? And I wouldn’t be worried about killing others if I could drink animal blood like the Cullens.

I would definently choose a werewolf. I would rather loose control of myself for a few hours than have to deal with the constant agony of thirst for blood. But the idea of not knowing who your loved ones are when you do turn into a werewolf is a turn off.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I like some of the qualities of being a vampire better than a vampire I would choose werewolf simply because I don't believe that people should live in this world forever.
